Delivering Better Health
The Frankston Hospital Redevelopment is a landmark $1.1 billion project set to transform healthcare services in Melbourne's south-east. The redevelopment includes a new 12-storey clinical services tower, 130 additional beds, expanded mental health and oncology services, and 15 new operating theatres. It also features expanded women's and children's services, including new maternity, obstetrics, and paediatric wards, a women's clinic, and a special care nursery.
Benefits of the Redevelopment:
- Increased Capacity: The hospital will have the capacity to treat approximately 35,000 additional patients each year, enhancing access to healthcare for the local community. Enhanced Patient Outcomes: State-of-the-art facilities and the co-location of clinical services will support Peninsula Health in delivering improved care, enhancing the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
- Local Access: The increased service capacity will enable more residents of Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula to access the care they need closer to home, reducing the need for travel to distant facilities.
- Environmental Sustainability: the redevelopment includes an all-electric energy system, water- and energy-saving technologies and a mechanical system delivering 100% fresh air throughout the new tower.
